This is Jun Lee. He's Korean and is studying Japanese at Osaka University. Jun is 26 and he's just loving life and his adventures on the road atop his bicycle. Jun speaks Korean, English and Japanese. He speaks both his second and third languages beautifully. We met on the ferry. Jun is the kind of guy you like instantly. He's just got a great personality and brightness about him that endear him to all whose path he crosses. I feel lucky to have met Jun. Two years ago he came to Japan with his mountain bike, and cycled all through this country for 6 months. Jun has been cycling through Shikoku, Kyushu, and Okinawa for the last 5 weeks now. I think he's still got a couple more to go. Ganbare Jun san!

昨日は韓国人の留学生ジュンと夜通し語り合って船酔いからも回復しだしたビル。
彼のお手製のサンドイッチももらいました。




This is where Jun and I are sleeping for the night - behind the A-Line ferry terminal. Tomorrow's ferry to Kagoshima is leaving at 7:00 am, so this is the place to be. Jun made me a ham, grape jam, lettuce, and tomato sandwich. The one he made for himself was identicle, but was topped with sliced banana! It's good to have Jun's company.

Jun and I were picking up some supplies on Kokusaidori ("international street") in Naha. This street is like the Time Square of Naha. There are souvenir shops and foriegners galore. Here I am sitting on a GOYA (very bitter traditional Okinawan vegetable).

那覇の国際通りにて。あっちを見てもこっちを見ても外国人だらけらしい。

That's a BIG GOYA!

沖縄と言えばゴーヤでしょう！！！！
