My camp for day 3. It's about a mile in on a slightly muddy dirt farm road. To the left is marsh and to the right is a swift flowing river. I am camping inside the heart of the wetland National Park. For such a very remote location it's a bit of a miracle that my phone gets perfect three-bar reception. The only draw back to camping smack dabb in the middle of one of Japan's greatest wetlands, is the mosquitos. I swear there are BILLIONS of the little humming bloodsuckers! Last night I made a fire, not for warmth or ambience, but with hope that the subsequent smoke would drive the pesky female insects away. My plan worked a little.
